China volunteers leave for Milan for World Expo service
Twelve Chinese volunteers left for Milan from the Shanghai Pudong International Airport over the weekend to serve the World Expo which will run from May 1 to October 31.
The volunteers, two men and ten women, included college students, teachers and white-collar employees from China and they will mainly help with guest reception and other important events operated by the China Pavilion.
Altogether 36 volunteers have been chosen from 2,862 young applicants. Another 24 volunteers will depart later.
Nearly 150 countries, areas and international organizations will participate in the Milan World Expo, which is expected to attract 20 million person-times of visitors.
