'China's Got Talent' enters second season
THE highly popular "China's Got Talent" TV show will soon start its second season and its three-person jury remains unchanged -- Shanghai stand-up comedian Zhou Libo, veteran musician/director Gao Xiaosong and Taiwanese actress Annie Yi.
It was widely rumored that former CCTV hostess Ni Ping and Hong Kong actress Shu Qi were among the candidates for the jury.
"It is definitely the smartest choice the production team has ever made," Yi said jokingly. "We hope this time we can discover a lot more gifted people who can represent China to showcase their talent on the international stage."
According to Jin Lei, the show's director, more than 50,000 people have entered the competition. The second season has attracted more contestants born in the 1980s and '90s who are more creative and imaginative.
The show's elimination rounds will be aired at 9pm every Sunday starting May 1.
