City cardio-thoracic hospital sets up library for patients

SHANGHAI Yodak Cardio-Thoracic Hospital had teamed up with Shanghai Book Mall, one of the city’s largest book stores, to set up a library for patients receiving intravenous injection and others who are hospitalized.
The books are donated by Shanghai Book Mall. It is the city’s first library in hospital’s IV room for patients.
The hospital also worked with primary and middle schools to organize students to visit hospitalized children and donate their books for them.
Hospital officials said books donated by students will be designated for the children’s wards as the hospital receives over 1,000 children with congenital heart diseases all over the country every year. The books are expected to help children to ease their anxiety and fear of surgeries.
