City shuts down dozens of illegal parking lots
FORTY-FIVE illegal parking lots in the city were closed down this week by a Shanghai traffic law enforcement team.
The parking lots were unlicensed, overcharged customers and didn’t provide invoices.
The enforcement team said some of the illegal parking lots had potential safety hazards due to the lack of attendants.
Another 94 parking lots were found without the proper signage detailing fees and management phone numbers. They were urged to make corrections or face fines up to 2,000 yuan (US$322).
