LOCAL coast guard authorities said yesterday that it will be able to reach any part of the 20,000 square meters of waters it patrols around Shanghai within an hour in an emergency during the 184-day World Expo.
Thousands of coast guard troops, some coming from eight other provinces, will be stationed along the 500 kilometers of the city's coast to increase patrols and checks on docks.
