BLUE sky returned to Shanghai today and the air quality is as good as it was in this past summer when the city was in the path of winds from the ocean.
The Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center said the PM2.5 readings collected across the city began to drop quickly from almost 130 micrograms per cubic meter yesterday afternoon to below 20 micrograms this morning.
The city's average PM2.5 density was 17.2 micrograms per cubic meter at 1pm. The international standard for good air quality is below 20 micrograms per cubic meter.
