Colossal LV 'suitcase' at Plaza 66 is gone
WORKERS are removing outdoor advertising boxes on Nanjing Road W. as the Jing'an District government promised last Tuesday to tidy up the area around the mall of Plaza 66 in seven days.
The oversize Louis Vuitton "suitcase" which boarded up the shop front for about a year is now covered in scaffolding as workers are repairing the wall surface after tearing down the "suitcase."
Zhang Donglin, a property management executive for Plaza 66, told Shanghai Daily that the clear-up project around the building is on schedule. The scaffoldings have not been removed because they are used to hide ongoing renovation work.
In a previously interview, a Louis Vuitton official surnamed Tan told Shanghai Daily that it is possible that a smaller LV suitcase will be set up after the giant one was demolished for violating the city's outdoor advertising regulation.
