Coming up roses

Bulgaria, the Balkan land of roses and rich heritage, celebrates its National Pavilion Day today. The theme of the pavilion is "City of Shared Heritage."

Traditional Bulgarian folk dancing and singing will be presented, including the song, "My Mother." It will celebrate heritage dating back to the Bulgarian Empire and Byzantine Empire.

Bulgaria, which stretches from the Balkan Mountains to the Black Sea coast, is famous for its roses and is one of the biggest producers of rose oil in the world.

The pavilion is in the Europe Joint Pavilion II. The modernistic design links ancient and modern civilizations. Exhibits take visitors on a journey through Bulgaria's rich history.

The Bulgarian Revival corner is decorated as a famous museum known for its murals and carved wood ceiling and architectural details.
