Companies urged to test returning workers

Shanghai will further intensify its novel coronavirus prevention and control measures concerning imported cases and asymptomatic patients, a move which comes as the hardest-hit city Wuhan in Hubei Province lifted its travel ban yesterday.

Companies in Shanghai are encouraged to arrange nucleic acid tests for workers returning to Shanghai. They can apply with local health commissions in different districts to have workers’ samples taken for analysis at qualified medical institutions.

Other measures include preliminary screening at fever clinics, epidemiology investigations of suspected cases and management of QR health codes.

Thousands of people have begun returning to Shanghai after the lockdown was lifted.

Hongqiao Railway Station on Metro Line 2 has resumed extra services from Sundays to Thursdays, beginning last weekend.

The extra trains depart at 11:04pm and 11:30pm, stopping at Hongqiao International Airport Terminal 2, Songhong Road, Zhongshan Park, Jing’an Temple, People’s Square, Century Avenue and Longyang Road stations.
