Concerts and games draw consumer ire
COMPLAINTS over cultural performances, fitness services and online games surged last year, the city’s consumer rights protection commission said yesterday.
Some concert organizers angered ticket buyers for misinformation on time and performers, said Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission, which received nearly 4,000 complaints over cultural performances and fitness services last year, up 70 percent from 2015.
EXO K-friends performances last year drew complaints for offering different content to that being promoted and finishing early.
The commission also received 4,192 complaints over online games in 2016, a 76.5 percent rise from 2015.
There were 7,746 complaints and 1,662 complaints over smartphone quality and repair service, up 13.3 percent and 39.3 percent respectively, from a year earlier. In August, Samsung’s Note7 mobile phones were found to contain safety hazards, triggering nearly 100 complaints.
In total, more than 120,000 complaints were forwarded to the commission last year.
