A BUS conductor was killed and four passengers injured when a steel tube penetrated 2 meters into the vehicle. The accident happened in Fengxian District at around 1:10pm on Puxing Road near Daye Road when the bus slowed and the truck hit it from the rear.
The truck's load of 8-meter steel tubes came apart when the vehicles collided. The female conductor died in hospital. The four passengers are in a stable condition. The bus, which runs from Nanqiao Bus Station to Liulin Road, had few passengers at the time. The truck had a Shanghai plate, police investigating the incident said.
