Copycats in house-moving business hard to kill
HOPING to wipe out illegal competitors and restore their tarnished images, Shanghai's 22 licensed house-moving companies have reported more than 2,000 copycats to the industry's watchdog.
The 22 companies said they singled out those fake companies using Internet search engines. These illegal operators have caused big losses to them and let nearly one third of their vehicles to stay idle.
Some big-name moving companies sued the search engines for accepting money from unlicensed companies to run online ads. But the fake ones soon made a comeback after the lawsuits.
The city's industrial and commercial administration said they will continue to crack down on the illegal businesses.
