Crew rescued after yacht caught in fishing nets
A SAILING boat that was under the threat of sinking at Yangtze River mouth yesterday has been put out of danger and its seven crewmembers rescued, local maritime authorities said today.
The incident happened at 11am yesterday when the boat, "Qinhuangdao," reported that it had become entangled in a fishing net and water was seeping in.
A helicopter and maritime boats were dispatched to rescue the crewmembers, officials said.
The boat is presently undergoing repair work at the Shanghai port after which it will sail to southern China for a sailing competition.
