Crowds galore
ATTENDANCE at the Expo is expected to hit 500,000 again today, the first day of the three-day Dragon Boat Festival, the Expo Coordination Bureau said yesterday.
Heavy traffic is forecast at the entries on the Pudong side of the Expo during the morning rush hour from 9am to 11am.
Extremely large crowds are expected in front of popular national pavilions. The Expo site will be less crowded and relatively more comfortable after 4pm, the bureau said.
Visitors are advised to adjust their tours accordingly.
Meanwhile, Shanghai Food and Drug Administration yesterday warned World Expo visitors to be cautious in taking cooked food, cakes, sandwiches and fruit cups with them.
Such food may go bad in hot weather, the FDA said.
And to prevent food poisoning, officials also urged visitors to heat their food completely when purchasing lunch boxes from supermarkets.
