Cruise ship deaths not flu
THE deaths of two passengers on a luxury cruise liner visiting Shanghai were not connected to swine flu, the entry-exit authority has confirmed.
The Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has approved entry permits for the 2,640 passengers and 1,061 crew from the Diamond Princess which arrived yesterday morning, Oriental Morning Post reported today.
One 59-year-old woman from Great Britain had suffered a heart attack on Monday night and died despite emergency treatment.
The entry-exit officials had checked all passengers onboard on Monday afternoon.
Another 77-year-old woman from Canada had died on Saturday from unknown causes.
