Cyclist killed in truck smash

A 17-year-old cyclist was crushed to death by a construction truck in an accident in the Pudong New Area yesterday afternoon.
The teenager, accompanied by her elder sister on another bicycle, was making a left turn at the intersection of Wuxing Road and Lianxi Road at about 12:30pm. Traveling in the same direction, a truck is said to have ran the traffic light before hitting the girl. Witnesses said she was dragged for six meters before the truck stopped. Police have detained the driver, an employee of a local construction company. The accident is still under investigation.
