Day-care center found in Metro station
A day-care center inside the Metro Line 6 station underneath the Shanghai Children's Medical Center has provided sick children and their parents a place to rest while waiting to see doctors in one of the city's busiest hospitals.
The day-care center, opened in June, also makes parents feel safe from possible cross-infection in the crowded hospital, and inform them about clinical registration and disease prevention.
Shanghai Children's Medical Center is also involved in the operation of the day-care center and has provided first-aid and sterilization skills training for Metro workers. It also plans to install a ticket-controlled queue management system in the center.
"Many children are frightened of doctors in white gowns," said Jiang Fan, an official with the hospital. "The waiting center helps them get relaxed and prepared for treatment," she said.
