Dining destination near Disney's new park

A RIVERSIDE catering center billed as Shanghai's biggest restaurant zone will be built near the new Disney Park in Pudong.

Construction of the first phase project measuring 35,000 square meters will start next year while the complete center totaling 300,000 square meters is expected to finish in three years, today's Shanghai Evening News reported.

The zone will be in Zhoupu Town, to the east of World Expo park. It will face the west gate of the Disney amusement park which recently gained government approval to go ahead.

Metro Lines 11 and 18 will pass through the area.

To promote cuisine, Zhoupu government will host a three-day food festival in the New Year holiday, treating visitors to dishes from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau as well as southeast Asia, the report said.
