Disney artists turn Chuansha school into 'Small World'
TO coincide with International Volunteer Day and Walt Disney's birthday on December 5, Shanghai Disney Resort partnered with the government of Chuansha New Town and the Habitat for Humanity China to start a campus beautification program at local Chuansha Yuxi Primary School.
Employees from Shanghai Disney Resort joined volunteers from Shanghai International Tourism and Resort Zone, Shanghai Shendi Group and Walt Disney (China) Ltd to help students paint their school with images from Disney's "Small World."
"Disney is committed to being a valuable community partner and an active corporate citizen wherever we do business including here in our newest destination in Shanghai. Events like this help bring our creative talent into the community, and provide opportunities to educate, engage and inspire our cast, partners and members of the local community," said Howard Brown, SVP and project development executive of Shanghai Disney Resort.
"Today, our imagineers are excited to use their artistic expertise and skills to assist students in beautifying their own campus and inspire learning, creativity and greater awareness of volunteerism," Brown said.
"Walt Disney believed in the power of creativity and volunteerism to make a difference in the community, and we are excited to be here in Chuansha with our partners and friends to share this legacy with the local community and to celebrate our new partnerships," he added.
