Documentary 'Images On Fire' based on rare wartime records to be screened to commemorate victory
"Images On Fire," a historical documentary film based on the rare sequences of 284 documentaries from China Film Archive will be released on September 18 to commemorate China’s 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-fascist War.
The film crew held a premiere today at the Yonghua Cinema.
The film offers a panorama-style record of the efforts, hardship and courage of Chinese people from 1937 to 1945 to resist against Japanese aggression.
It provides an insight into the history through scenes of battlefield, ordinary families and celebration of the final victory.
The 95-minute film selects important sequences from the 284 documentary productions which are collected by the China Film Archive.
Different from other documentary films, the film doesn't include any current interviews or technique to reappear the wartime scenes.
Producers said that it is an innovative attempt in domestic documentary filmmaking. They believe that history can tell the true story on its own.
