Don't stamp passports!
Foreign visitors should not collect pavilion stamps in their passports, the Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Bureau said after they found several overseas travelers having their passports stamped with seals collected from national pavilions on the Expo site.
Presenting passports with unofficial stamps can lead to delays, the authorities warned.
People who want to collect the stamps should purchase an Expo Passport, a souvenir for visitors who want a permanent record of their Expo visit. Expo Passports are available at Expo souvenir stores and cost 30 yuan (US$4.4).
Visitors holding the Expo Passport can get a seal at each pavilion. Each participating country and organization has prepared a commemorative seal showing its distinctive cultural characteristics.
Expo Passports are the size of real passports, and there are two versions: a cartoon edition and a standard edition in agate red, olive green and sapphire blue.
