A male driver died after his car plunged into a river in Shanghai's Putuo District at 7:40am today, a witness said.
The car drove through a green area, knocked down the riverside banisters, and fell into the river.
The middle-aged driver was pronounced dead after his car was pulled from the water.
Police said they are still investigating the accident.
