Drunk brothers detained for attacking traffic police

TWO drunk brothers have been detained after they punched a police officer in Jiading District under the influence of alcohol, police said today.
The incident happened at about 2:20pm last Friday when the elder brother surnamed Pu fell off his motorcycle while driving along Liuxiang Road in suburban Jiading District, police said.
Witnesses soon called the police and ambulance as Pu's face was bleeding. Pu who smelled of alcohol denied he fell himself and blamed a traffic officer who came to investigate for letting a liable car leave the scene.
But there was no other vehicle when Pu fell, the witnesses said.
Pu kept abusing the officer when the latter was calling for support, and Pu called his brother for help.
The two brothers, both drunk, then started to push officers around and hit one officer hit.
Alcohol test conducted later showed Pu's blood alcohol level was 336mg per 100ml, much higher than the legal limit of 80mg per 100ml for drivers.
