Dummy gun man detained

A MAN has been detained for allegedly threatening another man with a dummy pistol on Sunday in Fengxian District, police said yesterday.

No one was injured during the incident, officers said.

It happened about 7pm when the victim, surnamed Liu, came across the suspect in a restaurant. The two were once neighbors.

Liu said hello and patted Shen's shoulder. Shen replied by hitting Liu. The two then had a quarrel, police said.

Shen walked away and came back to the restaurant with the dummy pistol in his hands, Liu said.

"He asked me to kneel down and apologize," Liu said.

Liu, with the "gun" pointed at his head, had to walk about 50 meters along a road with the suspect.

During the threat, Liu hinted others to call the police.

The suspect ran off as officers arrived about 9pm.

He threw the "gun" onto a truck when he fled, but was soon caught by police.
