East Bund resonates to music
The city’s East Bund in Pudong is alive with music thanks to Midi, China’s Woodstock Festival.
The MG East Bund Midi Pie Shanghai 2020 kicked off in the Laobaidu area along the Huangpu River on Saturday with performances by popular bands such as Rolling zoos, 109 and Duijiaoxiang.
Unlike Midi Festival, China’s first original music festival, Midi Pie focuses more on interaction with youth to promote a new cultural and environment-friendly lifestyle. It is the first of its kind in Shanghai.
As well as music performances, a riverside music fair displays old vinyl recordings, promotes the Steampunk style and sells food. It will run until October 18.
According to the Pudong Commerce Commission, it will attract more visitors to the East Bund to further boost consumption.
