THE city's power authorities launched their biggest crackdown this year against electricity theft last night. About 1,200 people including staff of power companies and police officers were involved.
Shanghai Electric Power Co Ltd said electricity theft was spreading. The company said 26,884 households had stolen electricity in the first half of this year, which was about 75 percent of last year's figure.
