RESTAURANTS in Shanghai plan to hire 1,000 college students as assistants to prepare the local catering industry for the upcoming world expo, a local newspaper reported today.
It is expected the demand for waiters will surge during the time, so Shanghai Restaurants Association joined hands with 10 top restaurants in the city's southwest to hire college students as temporary workers, according to the Shanghai Morning Post report.
Expo 2010 Shanghai China is scheduled between May 1 and October 31 next year.
