Expo wedding bonus
NEWLYWEDS may tie the knot inside a classical French-style garden, take photos against a romantic background, receive gifts and enjoy professional make-up services from May 1 to October 31 at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
And here comes a rather exciting wedding benefit.
"You don't have to pay, or book, or queue up for it," says Franck Serrano, spokesman for the French Pavilion.
"Just wear your wedding outfit and enjoy your most romantic time of life here."
According to Serrano, every couple wanting a French wedding can have their dreams come true at the World Expo, as the French Pavilion has planned to set up a romantic scene as well as provide some surprising gifts and prizes.
Each couple will be given a unique wedding certificate with which they may participate in a lottery.
Those who win the lottery may meet Alain Delon, the famous French actor and also the "Godfather of the French Pavilion."
Moreover, lucky couples may even win a week-long honeymoon trip to France at the end of the event.
The French Pavilion will offer free grand wedding ceremonies for 2010 couples during the six-month Expo.
L'Oreal China, one of the world's biggest cosmetics company, will offer 2010 cosmetics products as gifts to the newlyweds.
The company has become a sponsor of the French Pavilion following a recent signing ceremony. It is also a sponsor of the World Expo 2010.
During the event, the company will also offer training courses to etiquette staff working in the pavilions of the World Expo.
But the company has not yet revealed the size of its budget to be allocated to World Expo.
The French President Nicolas Sarkozy is now planning his visit to Shanghai with high-ranking officials to coincide with the beginning of World Expo, according to Herve Ladsous, French ambassador to China.
Also France will celebrate the first music festival in Shanghai on June 21, marking its National Pavilion Day.
