PUTUO District police said yesterday that they had detained three men for allegedly dealing in counterfeit cigarettes worth more than 1 million yuan (US$146,400).
Officers caught one suspect on Wednesday, surnamed Hong, and confiscated 38 boxes of fake cigarettes of a famous national brand. Two drivers who helped transport the goods were also detained.
