Fans mark Michael Jackson's death

FANS of the late Michael Jackson will mark his death a year ago with a candlelit vigil and dance tonight at the Expo UN DEVNET Pavilion in Shanghai.

A domestic fan club has organized a three-day event with impersonators, special exhibit and films at the pavilion.

Fifteen fans performed Jackson's classics including "Beat it" and "Dangerous" at the stage inside the pavilion at 2pm today, marking the start of the event.

A memorial candlelight vigil was planned for 7pm.

Tomorrow night, a domestic dance group named "DRILL" will perform Jackson's unique "moonwalk" on the stage from 2 pm.

Besides the performance, a special memorial exhibition is held inside the pavilion and will run till the Expo ends. Expo visitors can see photos, albums, the star's ornaments and fans' private collections, said an organizer surnamed Chen.

The event will end with hundreds watching the films "This is it" and "Moonwalker" on a large LED screen on the pavilion from 7pm on Sunday night.
