Fatal manhole fall

A 58-YEAR-OLD woman died when she accidentally fell down a manhole about 4am yesterday on Sichuan Road N. in Hongkou District. The manhole's cover was missing although a wooden board was used to cover it. The victim's daughter said there was no warning signs around. The woman was believed to have died of severe head injuries caused by the fall. Police will investigate.
