Fatigued driver who killed 2 faces prosecution

A tired driver who rammed into two vehicles on an emergency driveway on the city's S4 Highway and killed two people in the rear-end collision has been arrested and charged with causing a traffic accident, Jinshan District prosecutors said yesterday.
The accident occurred on the eastern section of the S4 on November 4 last year when the 31-year-old suspect, Chen Hairong, was driving a heavy semi-trailer and crashed into a truck parked on an emergency driveway for a road check, which then rear-ended a police car in front of it under the strong crash impact.
Chen's wife and a police officer died at the scene.
