Film festival begins accepting applications for Asian New Talent Award

Filmmakers can apply to enter the 2015 Shanghai International Film Festival’s Asian New Talent Award competition.
The first two movies of any Asian director, actor, scriptwriter or cinematographer are eligible for the competition.
Prizes will be presented in the categories of best director, best actor, best actress, best scriptwriter and best cinematographer.
The award was launched in 2004 and is designed to discover promising talents. Past winners including mainland directors Ning Hao and Gao Qunshu, along with Iranian filmmaker Hassan Yektapanah.
