First batch of exhibits reach CIIE venue

The first batch of exhibits for the fourth China International Import Expo in Shanghai has been delivered to the exhibition venue.

The first exhibit to make it to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) was a bending machine with an automatic tool changer made by manufacturing firm Amada. The Japanese company has participated in every expo since the second CIIE. The company said it was the first time that the HRBC-ATC machine was being put up for display at a large-scale exhibition.

The other two exhibits are Jungheinrich’s products, a German company, which is active in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors.

The two products, with their standout green designs, EZS7280 and ETVQ20, are being presented for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region and China.

Bai Daping, general manager of Jungheinrich China, said: “By standing on the shoulders of this giant (CIIE), we have not only seen our brand awareness greatly enhanced, but also achieved huge business opportunities in the Chinese market.

“Our product that was exhibited at the first expo now has a market share of more than 50 percent now and ranks first, while those exhibited at the second expo has been put into localized production at our Kunshan plant, reducing costs by 25 percent.

“The European hidden champion is no longer ‘hidden’ in China,” he said.

Feng Jianhui, the senior logistic manager of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, said the China International Import Expo Bureau and the center have made specific plans to transport exhibits since August.

There are strict measures in place for epidemic prevention and control.

As of October 23, Shanghai port has temporarily imported 150 batches of exhibits. About 98 percent of the exhibits for the fourth CIIE are already in the country.

The fourth CIIE will be held from November 5 to 10.
