First medical innovation competition starts

THE nation’s first medical innovation competition kicked off in the city yesterday. The competition is to provide a platform for star-tup on medical innovation, boost the transfer of medical technology from laboratory to clinical use, encourage more medical staff to involve in innovation, local science authority said.
Fields like new drug development, medical appliance research, diagnostic reagent, intelligence medicine and new materials are major targets of this competition.
The competition will launch the evaluation and road show in early November. Shanghai is the one of major stops. Over 300 innovation projects with patent will participate.
