Five of the best for our Haibao

THE World Expo 2010 organizer yesterday unveiled five Haibao mascots for its Theme Pavilions -- Haibao in five different outfits.

The pavilions -- Urbanian Pavilion, City Being Pavilion and Urban Planets Pavilion in Pudong and Future Pavilion and Footprint Pavilion in Puxi -- allows the host country to provide explanations of the event's major theme, "Better City, Better Life."

The mascot for the Urbanian Pavilion is a Haibao family of three and the pavilion will feature stories about different families from around the world.

A sporting Haibao is the mascot for the City Being Pavilion to symbolize the city's vitality.

A forest sheriff Haibao represents the Urban Planets Pavilion, which urges environmental protection.

The Future Pavilion, showcasing urban life in years to come, has an astronaut Haibao, while the Footprint Pavilion about the history of city has a Haibao dressed as a professor.

The 130,000-square-meter Theme Pavilion in Pudong will be turned into a world-class exhibition space after the Expo is over.
