Food for thought
As the city goes all out to make its schools healthy places to grow up in, a pilot project on proper nutrition is to be expanded citywide.
About 50 schools were asked to prepare high quality, nutritional food and engage students in tasks like serving, with classes on food safety, sourcing and nutrition, all the name of instilling in them the importance of eating well. “The program has given students more respect for the people who produce and prepare their food,” said Yao Peilei, one of the leaders of the program.
