Food warehouse on fire, one worker injured

A FIRE broke out in a food company warehouse in Shanghai's Minhang District this morning. No casualty was reported except one worker suffered burns in his hands.
Police said the fire occurred at 9:04am in the warehouse of Shanghai Laurel Food Company at 10 Guiguan Road. The 1,500-square-meter warehouse was used to store frozen food.
Firefighters put out the fire by 10:30am. Plumes of black smoke could be seen in the sky and the warehouse covered with painted steel sheets smelt of burnt plastic.
The gas company has sent six workers to the warehouse to do repair work. The cost of damages is still unknown and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
