Fray on bus leads to 3-vehicle rear-ender accident

A man allegedly attacked a bus driver this morning on Jinqiao Road in Pudong District, causing a three-vehicle crash. The bus driver was sent to the hospital, but no other injuries were reported so far.
The accident happened around 7:30am when the man jumped onto a Route 778 bus and started beating the driver. A witness said the attacker was a taxi driver.
"He said the bus driver had cut into the lane he was driving in on purpose," the unnamed witness said.
While they were scuffling on the bus, the fully-packed bus coasted forward and rammed into a taxi which then hit a van in the front.
The bus driver failed to keep hold of the steering wheel during the fight, the witness said.
The Pudong Jingao Bus Company has confirmed the attack and police is investigating the accident.
