Free trips won to Turkey and Indonesia
A LOCAL policeman became the 3 millionth visitor to the Indonesia Pavilion yesterday.
The lucky officer, Zhou Sicheng, 26, from Jing'an District Public Security Bureau, won a six-day tour package for two to Indonesian capital Jakarta and the Batam Island, as well as 3 million Indonesian rupiah (US$331.50) in spending money.
Zhou is entitled to free return air tickets and 5-star hotel accommodation.
The policeman said he didn't have a girlfriend to go with him and plans to use the prize after the Expo because police aren't allowed time off during the event.
"I will try to find a girlfriend by then. If I can't, I will take my mother," he said.
Zhou said the bureau organized the pavilion visit for policemen yesterday.
He decided to visit the Indonesia Pavilion because the queue wasn't long and its design was attractive.
Separately yesterday, a middle school student from Shanghai won a one-week tour of Turkey and two return flight tickets from Shanghai to Istanbul in the Turkey Pavilion.
On the 8th, 18th and 28th day of each month during Expo Shanghai, the pavilion will present the prize to its 8,888th visitor.
"It is such a big surprise," said lucky winner Hu Hanlin.
"I think I will go with my dad and mom," Hu added.
"Eight is a lucky number in China and we hope through this event, Chinese can know more about our country," said Sencar Ozsoy, the pavilion's Commissioner General.
