Gang sold 100,000 yuan in fakes
CITY police busted a gang selling clothes and shoes with counterfeit famous brands involving more than 100,000 yuan (US$16,052) in sales, officers said yesterday.
Police said three suspects were detained. The gang was detected at the end of last month when police found fake goods at a company warehouse in Qingpu District.
Most of the goods were T-shirts that were to be transported to the Pudong New Area.
The suspects were seized on February 22 in their apartment in Pudong, and thousands of clothes and shoes were confiscated.
Police found the suspects had been buying cheap clothes since November. Before reselling the goods online, they attached fake labels. Each T-shirt was sold at US$7 to US$8, the suspects told the police. In three months, they had done 100,000 yuan in sales.
