Gang trial over fatal shootout

SIX members of a gang accused of taking part in a deadly shoot-out in Putuo District last May went on trial today.
The hearing at Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court is scheduled to last for three days. Another gang of five Fujian Province members will face trial next week.
The gunfight, in which two gang members died and two were injured, was caused by a debt dispute among drug dealers, prosecutors said. Police seized 15 guns and 247 bullets in the case.
The defendants face charges of murder, drug dealing trade and mass fighting.
