Garbage sorting to be expanded
SHANGHAI'S garbage sorting trial will be expanded to include local parks, wet markets, schools and office buildings next year, local public sanitation authorities said yesterday.
Altogether 100 schools, 100 wet markets, 300 office buildings and 50 parks will participate in the trial. People are expected to sort kitchen leftovers from other garbage. Some 1,080 neighborhoods started the trial this year, but the program has met with only limited success.
