Get strung along

VISITORS can watch how a violin is made at the Italy Pavilion as eight master makers demonstrate the specialised skills needed to construct a violin.

When ready, the masters will play the instrument for visitors to test its quality. Two different style of violins will be made during the two-week display. Violin making is a speciality in Cremona, a northern Italian city, which has more than 140 workshops. A total of 12 skills such as tailoring, shoe making and wooden artworks have been showcased inside the pavilion throughout the six-month event.
