HK opens creative exhibition

HONG Kong yesterday extended its Expo involvement with a creative exhibition in Luwan District.

The "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" display includes more than 150 spatial designs, fashion pieces and cartoons.

A highlight is a collection of 50 human-shaped sculptures from young Hong Kong designers on the theme of "A Better Tomorrow." The figures demonstrate the designers' creativity and perspectives for the future.

The Hong Kong government aims to showcase its creative industries and energy to Expo patrons, John C. Tsang, financial secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, said yesterday.

Hong Kong design students and designers will visit Shanghai during the six-month exhibition.

The Hong Kong Pavilion, beside China Pavilion, has been popular since Expo opened, visitors having to wait more than an hour to enter.

It explores the theme "Hong Kong - the Infinite City," with a focus on transport networks, scientific facilities, finance and trade systems.

Entry is free to the "Creative Ecologies" display at 550 Jumen Road.
