Han urges city to ensure safety after Bund stampede

Shanghai Party Secretary Han Zheng said today the city will boost security and safety checks and stop organizing events that may attract a huge crowd after 35 persons were killed last night in a stampede on the Bund.
Han said that the city will make all efforts to rescue the injured and publish related information in a timely manner. He also noted that all districts and counties must learn from the accident and step up measures to prevent similar tragedies.
