CITY traffic police will patrol over three local expressways by helicopter for four hours a day starting today, Shanghai police said yesterday.
Police said that they would focus on detecting congestion and providing real-time traffic information, and cracking down on violations not easily detected by ground traffic police, such as illegal parking on elevated roads and expressways. On-board cameras will also be used to collect penalty evidence.
