THE average salary of local hourly-paid domestic helpers was 12.5 yuan (US$1.83) an hour for the first three months of the year, the Shanghai Household Services Association said yesterday. The average salary was calculated according to a survey of local household services companies.
This was the first time the association has published ayis' salary level, and it will publish the salary level every three months from now on, officials said.
