THOUSANDS of illegal gas cylinders were destroyed yesterday in the city's Baoshan District, the authorities said. Shanghai Gas Management Office had a two-month crackdown on illegal sales of liquefied petroleum gas up until February 26. During the operation, 186 people were held and 5,058 cylinders confiscated, officials said. Three suspects have been detained.
