International dance day to be celebrated

A SERIES of cultural events will be held in the city to celebrate the International Dance Day on April 29, officials said today.

Co-organized by the International Theater Institute and Shanghai Theater Academy, the celebrations running from April 27 to 29 will feature international forum, workshop and dance performances.

Dance artists from all over the world will gather and exchange their views about the diversity of the dance. Dance lovers of the country can also attend 40 workshops to receive training of ballet and modern dance.

According to Lou Wei, an official from Shanghai Theater Academy, the three-day events are intended to bring people the fun of dance. The latest dance projects of the academy will also be displayed. Citizens can apply for free tickets by sending email to idd2017@international-dance-day.org.
